(If this posts as scheduled, you’ll be reading it as we’re on our way back to Cincinnati.)
Today is the day that my team at Forza Marketing works towards all year long. We manage an annual 10K/5K Prostate Cancer Race on behalf of our clients at The Urology Group — an event that attracts thousands of participants who raise money on behalf of ZERO, a charity that supports prostate cancer education and research.
This year ZERO joined forces with Nashville recording artist and former American Idol contestant Jimmy Charles. Charles recently penned the hit “Superman” in honor of prostate cancer patients and survivors, and he’s performing the song live today at the ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk in Cincinnati.
Charles, a Baltimore native, connected with a prostate cancer patient at Chesapeake Urology, one of ZERO’s Run/Walk partners. After spending time together and learning about the struggles that men and families face when fighting cancer, Charles was inspired to pen the song Superman, which he performed at the 2014 ZERO Prostate Cancer Run/Walk – Baltimore. During the time he was recording the song, Charles unexpectedly lost his own father.
“It feels good to be able to provide comfort to families facing cancer through my gift of music,” said Charles. “Recording the song helped me deal with the loss of my dad, knowing that I could help other families that were suffering.”
You can view the Jimmy Charles music video of Superman here.
It’s tough to be missing the race this year, ironically because we’re in the midst of Paul’s treatment. The entire Forza Marketing team volunteers their time on race day and I know that they’re doing an amazing job. Paul and I are both profoundly grateful for all of their time, effort and hard work and we can’t wait to see the photos from today’s event.
Wishing you both the very best of everything for the future. You will both be in our prayers.

Welcome back to theU.S.! Thanks again for sharing your journey. I enjoyed Germany through you (the blog). I wished you a and pleasant trip home. Hope you returned to low or no stress! Take it easy and close that laptop at a reasonable time, so your body and mind can rest and heal. Allow your treatment to set in well. I know you’ll be itching to work! Right now, everything should come after your health as I’m sure your Dr. probably told you. Those who love and care for you will understand. We are Family! Love you.
